We highly value your privacy and consider it our duty to protect your data to the best of our abilities. If you decide to purchase an insurance policy or use our services, we will need your personal information. In this privacy statement, we will explain what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we handle it, and what rights you have regarding your data. Our goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing that your data is in safe hands with us.
What personal data do we use?
We usually ask for your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number. Sometimes we will also ask for other data. For example, data needed to handle your claim, such as data relating to injuries. It varies per insurance or service product which data we need. It also happens that we receive data about you from persons or organisations outside our company, such as your employer.
What interactions do we record?
If we agree something with you by letter, e-mail or telephone, we record this communication. As evidence or to improve our service.
What do we use your personal data for?
We use your data to:
- offer you insurance or a service.
- enter into and perform an (insurance) agreement with you.
estimate our risks. - counter fraud. In a personal investigation, we may also use data we find about you on the internet.
- conduct historical, scientific and statistical research.
comply with the law. - keep track of how and when we contact you and relationship marketing.
It may be necessary for the performance of your (insurance) agreement to provide your data to persons or organisations outside our company.
With whom do we share your information?
Sometimes we exchange data with:
- our cooperation and outsourcing partners, such as our alarm centre and data centre supplier.
- companies that carry out medical examinations for us.
- your advisor.
- Central Information System Foundation (CIS)
CIS is the central information system of the insurance companies in the Netherlands. We can request or have your data recorded. For example, for claims reports. But also if you have not passed on important information and we stop the insurance as a result. By doing so, we want to manage risks and prevent fraud. The privacy regulations of the CIS Foundation apply, www.stichtingcis.nl.
If it is necessary to pass on data to persons or organisations outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we do so very carefully. The same privacy rules apply within the EEA.
We are extra careful with your sensitive data
By sensitive data we mean, for example:
- your citizen service number (BSN) and bank details.
- your medical data.
We only process your medical data if you have given your consent or if this is necessary for the execution of an (insurance) agreement. For assessing a claim, we process medical data necessary for handling this claim. The assessment of your medical data for the preparation of a medical opinion is done by a medical advisor. The medical advisor and our employees have a duty of confidentiality.
- criminal law data.
We may ask whether you have a criminal record if we need to determine the risk for insurance. Have you been a suspect or convicted more than eight years ago? If so, you do not have to disclose this.

Your rights

- have your data changed if it is incorrect.
- have your data deleted.
Sometimes we cannot delete your data. For example, because we still need your data. Or to comply with a law.
- object to certain uses of your data.
If you no longer wish to receive information from your insurance adviser about our products and services, we ask you to report this directly to them.
- withdraw your consent.
Did you give us permission to use your data? Then you may later withdraw your consent. We will no longer use your data from then on.
- transfer your data to another party.
